Kareena in, Bipasha out in Race 2

Despite giving a power packed performance in Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Race’, Bipasha Basu was ousted from the Race sequel and the mastermind behind the in and out game is learnt to be none other than the man madly in love, Saif Ali Khan.

He is desperate to have Kareena Kapoor instead of Bipasha Basu in the Race 2 and therefore convinced the director duo to rope in Kareena.

Overjoyed Saif revealed that the new Race would be much bigger than the earlier one and he even convinced the producer to sign up Abbas-Mustan again. Some changes are made on the script to make way for Kareena.

Confirming Kareena’s presence, Saif said, "Yes, Kareena will be part of Race 2. We're yet to flesh out the details. But Race 2 has to be bigger and larger than Race. Otherwise no point in making it".

Saif has again miffed his actress, first it was Deepika and now Bipasha. If he keeps on discarding his actress to make way for Bebo, we wonder in future he may not be facing hard time in convincing his heroines.

Shruti Haasan, Sarika and superstar Kamal Haasan’s light eyed, fiery natured daughter, is days away from debuting into bollywood. She is used to all the attention, having performed live with her own maiden band and her penchant for singing. However, it is Soham Shah’s high-octane action drama, Luck, which she has her hopes pinned on.

In the film, she romanticizes teen sensation, Imran Khan! However, the film ain’t all about romance, for she has done some really dare devil stunts evident from the promos. Says Shruti, “We've crossed all boundaries that might have never existed while filming action films,” and in the process, she got herself bruises of which she's immensely proud!

When asked if her legendary father, Kamal Haasan dropped by on the sets, the lady says, “I wouldn’t be able to act in front of him so I told him to wait and watch the final product”, she smiled.

These days, apart from her debut film, Shruti’s busy composing music for the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster, A Wednesday in Tamil and Telugu, which stars Kamal Haasan in the lead! She exclaims, “You can imagine how nervous I am, as both these films will release in a gap of a few days. Composing music was a different experience altogether and a challenging one if I may add, as I was working with Dad!”

Luck co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan, and releases worldwide on July 24 by Studio 18.

Aishwarya’s new karate strokes

After winning the heart of the millions with sword-fighting in ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to learn karate for her new film, ‘Endhiran’ starring Rajinikanth. Ash picks up things very quickly and her quick learning has impressed her trainer very much.

A source reveals, “After having learnt sword fights for her English movie The Last Legion, Aishwarya has been training herself in Karate for Endhiran.

A noted stunt master Ramesh who has been running a Japan Shito-Ryu karate school in the South for over 30 years, which is affiliated to the World Karate Federation is training the actress for the movie.

Ramesh is teaching Aishwarya the basics of Karate for now. In the movie Aishwarya Rai and the other girls in the film will be learning Karate from her hero. Rajnikant is already trained in Karate so he will not have to train himself. Some interesting scenes were shot recently in the VIT University in Chennai.”

‘Endhiran’ is a science fiction Tamil film being directed by S. Shankar. The film has loads of stunts and it is one the big budget films.
