Akshay Kumar wants to knock off ‘Khan’

Akshay Kumar reportedly wants to change the title of a film because it has ‘Khan’ in it, but things did not turn out the way he wished.

‘Tees Maar Khan’, which Akki signed recently, is a Farah Khan film, written and produced by her editor husband Shirish Kunder.

Akshay admits he did think that the title should be changed and the word ‘Khan’ be dropped from it, as reported by a daily. But when Farah explained the historical significance of ‘Tees Maar Khan’, a popular phrase used by Indians, he was fine with the title.

“‘Tees Maar Khan’ is a character out of an old folk tale. He conned his way into becoming the king’s general and even married the princess. Even today, when someone is a smart alec we say, Apne aap ko bada tees maar khan samajtha hain,” Farah is quoted as saying.

Thus who else than Akshay to play a con man; he is brilliant in such characters, but it’s believed that the role was originally meant for Shahrukh Khan, Farah’s best buddy, and the title of the film also has Khan in it. However, Farah has declined suc

h news and said the role is written for Akki only.

So, who will star opposite him? Goss mills say Katrina Kaif.
